The Authoritative Web Site for Funeral Resources
Welcome to our website.
The Funeral Directors Association of New Zealand (FDANZ) is the
association representing the majority of the funeral directing
companies in New Zealand.
Established in 1937 with a stated goal to continually raise
standards in the funeral profession in New Zealand, the Association
has never waivered from that goal.
FDANZ members are professionals who are committed to ensuring
that the families they serve are receiving high quality service.
Its members arrange and direct over 80% of all funerals in New
Zealand, and you can be assured of their caring
professionalism.
Why choose a member of the Funeral Directors Association of New
Zealand?
|
In a word - Standards!
|
|
- Our members must meet the high standards set down by the
Association for premises, vehicles and personnel. Members are
required to provide a range of facilities. Their premises are
inspected prior to membership being granted and every three years
thereafter.
- In a regime where there is no governmental requirement for
those working in the industry to be qualified, FDANZ member firms
are required to have qualified personnel on staff and to
participate in Continuing Professional Development approved by the
Industry Training Organisation.
- FDANZ Members are bound by strict Codes of Ethics and
Professional Conduct, specifically designed to meet FDANZ's high
standards of professionalism and delivery and the needs of the
community. These codes set out the minimum expectations for members
and are a reassurance of professional service and care for
families.
|
- FDANZ members provide an annual statutory declaration agreeing
to submit to and be bound by the FDANZ Disputes Resolution
Service
- FDANZ provides a prepaid funeral plan for members' clients -
the FDANZ Funeral Trust is the only plan endorsed by FDANZ. Funeral
Directors are experts on the options available and the likely cost
of funerals.
- FDANZ is proud to be represented on the industry training
organisation and to be actively involved in promoting
qualifications in funeral service in New Zealand.
