Westland Funeral Services
Westland Funeral Services was established by the late Joe Pattinson in 1963. We offer our services to the people of Greymouth, Reefton and the Grey Valley district. Our premises were purpose built and then redesigned and upgraded in 1991 to include a new chapel, visiting rooms, interview room and mortuary. We have the only licensed mortuary in Greymouth, and the only Crematorium on the West Coast.
Our Chapel is modern yet traditional, with rimu pews and laminated rimu roof beams blending with pale green walls and an Italian marble altar. An indoor balcony area with slate floor, fountain and large pot plants and ferns adds a restful atmosphere which is much commented on. For those visiting their loved ones, tea and coffee making facilities are also available. Provision is made for audio or video taping of services.
We are part of West Coast Funerals Ltd and as such are part of a Coast-wide organisation offering all services including New Zealand and world-wide repatriations. Westland Funeral Services continues the tradition of prefessionalism, integrity and compassion first started by Joe Pattinson over 40 years ago. His son Mark, a principal of the company, is a fully qualified funeral director and embalmer and hold the National Diploma in Funeral Services. He continues in the profession as a Funeral Director and advisor. His 26 years experience and knowledge is a very real asset to our company.
