AGM deferred to 30 November due to Government Restrictions

Following the extension of the lockdowns and the uncertainty of Government restrictions over the next few weeks, your Board met yesterday afternoon to discuss the impact on the AGM set for Wellington on the 20th October. The Board considered the very strong feedback from members with the:

  • desire to meet face to face
  • need for certainty around arrangements
  • potential risks of gathering
  • requirements of our rules for the AGM.

Your Board concluded that in line with our commitment to members, we need to honour the strongly expressed preference for the AGM to be held face to face and so we will defer the AGM to the latest possible time allowed by our rules.

This means that the AGM will be deferred to 30th November 2021 and will be held in Wellington. This will be preceded by a Welcome dinner on the 29th November and followed by a President’s AGM dinner on the evening of the 30th November.

Noting the need for certainty around this, if Government restrictions continue to the end of November and prevent a face to face AGM taking place, the AGM will stay fixed on that date and will move onto a virtual basis.

Due to the change in dates we have had to change venues for the dinners:

Welcome Dinner
When:  Monday 29 November 2021

AGM
When:  Tuesday 30 November 2021
Time:  8.30am – 5.30pm
Where:  Rydges Hotel, 75 Featherston Street, Wellington

President’s AGM Dinner
When:  Tuesday 30 November 2021
Time:  6.30pm – 10.00pm
Where:  Rydges Hotel, 75 Featherston Street, Wellington

FLIGHTS - Members will need to change their own flights.

ACCOMMODATION - If you have booked accommodation at the Rydges Hotel their reservations team will move your bookings to the new dates and send you a confirmation email. If you have booked elsewhere you will need to change your booking.  

REGISTRATIONS - Current registrations for the AGM and dinners will be automatically transferred to the new arrangements. 

Registrations close 23 November

We have extended the closing date to allow the maximum time period for members to register and attend what is a very highly anticipated event that will include the announcement and induction of a new President to lead the Association forward.
